Pump up the Jam!!

The past month has been a whirlwind- so busy with working with my little preschoolers and Young Women's -but and to add to it, we traveled to Utah and back in 3 days for an unfortunate gathering of Russell's grandpa's funereal, Grandpa Harris who married us in the Vegas temple 7 years ago. The service was beautiful and it was great to see family, but driving 1600 miles in 3 days is definitely not ideal when almost 7 months pregnant.  Russell was really good about stopping for me to pee every hour on the hour...so needless to say, we stopped about 12 times on the way down, but only 8 on the way back because I slept a lot more :)
Any who, a favorite part of the ride home was obviously when it started to snow and we listened to Chrismas music, but also when we stopped at a few consecutive rest stops and we saw the same guy at  them.  Now, this doesn't sound that amazing, but let me describe this gentleman   Our first encounter with him was when we were walking into the rest stop and he smiled at us and JOGGED out  the door.  We did our business and came out to find this guy not only with his ginormous  great Dane tied to his car and eating out of a lovely bowl, but to our amazement  the open trunk of his SUV and had a small home gym in the back.  He got out some handle push up bars, so that his hands wouldn't be on the cement, and was just burning some calories doing some push ups in the 35 degree weather.  I was laughing and congratulating him at the same time, it was just awesome that he was getting in some exercise in the parking lot.  Well, I didn't think too much of it until an hour later when we pulled in tot he next rest stop, and we caught him jogging out of the door again.  Now, when we came out the 2nd time, Great Dane Dolly was eating out of his large silver bowl and Mr gym got out some dumbbells and was just doing some bicep curls. No big deal... I almost couldn't handle how awesome this was, twice in the same day.  I snapped a picture of him and he was the highlight of our conversation for the next hour!  Thank you gym-man for "pumping up the jam," and providing some comic relief somewhere between Tremonton and Boise :)

just some biceps curls
Last week we started child birthing classes and there are 7 couples in the class, all who are  having girls, except us, which i thought was curious.  Anyway, we really enjoyed the class and like the teacher who is very straight forward and informative, along with most of the couples...however, there is that the one couple who seems to try so hard to know everything there is about child birth because they have researched it, read everything on the web, and have tons of family who've had kids and they feel that it is their duty to share their every obscure, intimate detail and worry with everyone, and offer their new found knowledge way too freely.

Its kinda annoying, but highly comical too.  Even the teacher, on several occasions throughout the evening, accused them of knowing way too much and doing way too much research...which was kinda funny.  When the teacher asked how confident each of us mommies are in our bodies to actually give birth, she asked for a number from 1-10.  Each woman offered a number and when it got to her, i don't really remember much of her 8 minute answer or her number, but what I do remember was her talking about her dislocated hip, pubis symphis ( which honestly, before then,  i didn't know what or where that was), and other random facts about her friend's pubis symphis breaking during childbirth...yikes, sometimes ignorance is bliss.... Even though I liked to be prepared and know all the info, I just want to know ENOUGH...not about ALL the things that could go wrong...But we love the class!  Its great to discuss with other first time mommies and validate each others' craziness :) We look forward to them, the information we learn and think about,  and the fabulous stories we get to digest!

So here is the most recent picture from last Sunday at 27 weeks.  I'll be 28 weeks this week, 7 months..woo hoo!!!  I decided to snap one of me in something other than sweats!

Also, It has been the best thing when Landon kicks every day...a) it reassures me that he is alive and b) its just very cool.  Last night when we were getting caught up on "Modern Family" (you might hear the show in the background of the video) I captured 15 seconds or so of him moving.  It happens right at the beginning, so look at the upper right part of my expanding belly, you'll see him do a couple big kicks/rolls.  I know many of you probably have awesome video and with better kicks, and hopefully I'll be able to get more as he gets bigger...but he gets a little camera shy, like his dad, when i video and this is what I got!! Enjoy!  I just want to get a shout out to all our lovely family, friends, co-workers, etc., who have been so supportive and excited for us.  We sure appreciate you!  Thanks for always inquiring about how we are and being interested in our expanding family!
