The title always makes me think of girls camp-anyone else? Anyone? Bueller?
Well, our announcement is that we have finally reserved a fabulous venue for our fundraiser! Drum roll please... The Fisher's Landing Grange Hall. I didn't even know what a Grange Hall was before this and I still don't..just kidding. We're really excited about this cute place! The sweet old farmer in charge of rentals met with us-Bob, who informed us that he rides a Harley, loves his fruit trees, and doesn't wear a coat until its 40 degrees below. This cute man gave us a great discount for our Saturday event. Instead of the regular $450, he felt that it was such a great cause, he is giving us all day Saturday for $150. Considering that most other places we checked into were asking for $150 as a deposit on top of the $600-1100 fee for the day, we felt extremely lucky to have met up with Bob! We heart him.
So the date of our "Carnival IVF Fundraiser" is during National Infertility Awareness Week (NIAW), on Saturday, April 28, 2012-from 2pm-5pm. Please mark your calendars and show up with the whole family for a great time!
We hope that having it in April will give us the time we need to organize a fun event that will educate, inform, and raise money for IVF. If you're interested in helping to plan and/or organize, let me know- we'd love your bright ideas.
We are planning on having delicious food and carnival games for sale with raffle tickets. In addition, we are hoping to have other items; arts, crafts, goods, services, etc., donated for a silent auction along with more costly items auctioned in a live auction. We are contacting local businesses inviting them to participate and support our cause by donating gift certificates and goods as well.
Russell and I are so excited for the opportunity to "grow our family" and pray we'll continue receiving the support and help from so many of you! Please check our blog often as we will be posting updates about the Fundraiser, how to help, and information about how to educate others about infertility, especially during NIAW.
So mark your calendars for Saturday, April 28th, and start practicing your "carnie" skills- Family...isn't about time!
