Halloween a little belated

Some of our friends had a Halloween party and it was so fun to see everyone dressed up..What did we dress up as? Well my outfit stemmed from an internal desire to dye my hair black. I've always wanted to and never have, so I thought Halloween would be the perfect day for my transformation. It started with the black hairspray and it just metamorphosed into something else. I got black lip liner, black nail polish, fake sparkly eye lashes, which I've always wanted to wear as well. Tattoo's, fish net stockings, black tutu, lip ring and a nose ring, which I secretly wanted in college, and came home with a fake one my freshman year, as a trial run with the family...didn't go so well. Any who, the outfit and whole persona evolved into a goth rocker chic...which uncannily resembled many Portland teenagers with much angst and a lot of makeup. It was a good time. Russell on the other hand doesn't share my same enthusiasm for "dressing up." ( 9 times out of 10 he dressed up as "Clark Kent" growing up). His high maintenance outfit would consist of jeans, superman t-shirt, glasses (instead of contacts)and a white dress shirt on top. So this year I begged him to really dress up and well... he delivered. He was Tony Stark, Iron man guy. Jeans, White t-shirt, and the bright arc reactor...he was a hit. He got a lot of compliments on his cleverness...Oh how I love him.

Wow. I do remember some of those fascinations from your past. You pulled it off "beautifully" my love. As for us...well Dylan was a knight, Lola was sleeping beauty and so Allen and I were asked to be dragons by default. We acted the part, but didn't go the full extent of turning green. Sorry. I did go as a a clown princess to their preschool halloween party and I was the ONLY mom who dressed up. My kids thought I was the coolest.

Oh my gosh-new pics! You guys are awesome! I admire your spirit! I'm afraid I lean toward Russell and do as little as possible for costuming myself. This year I hung a picture of Alison Sweeny around my neck.

Brie, I was laughing outloud. You're hysterical, and look pretty hot as a goth rocker. I bet Russell liked it, deep down. Clark Kent! So funny! Ryan shocked the pants off me last year and actually dressed up for a halloween party. He put on his tool belt and CERT hardhat (you know, the green one they give people who certify for neighborhood emergency response? don't act like you don't know.) that's my man-i was so excited!

so hey, now that gas is cheap, I'll be coming down every weekend like we planned, right?

on a completely different note, the girls got dressed in black pants and white shirts this morning and have been playing "baby penquins" all day. It's nice for a change, magical ponies was getting really old.
