Stop Pushing

So apparently some negative thoughts and feelings have been felt as some people have logged on to my blog. I've been getting hate mail that just yells at me to "UPDATE" everyone on my life. So here it is, as uneventful as it may be. First off, December 11 was a very important day...it was my 1/2 birthday...and Russell's 26th birthday...that was the real celebration! But much like my sister, and Trevor will attest to this, we somehow take the attention off the special someone and refocus it on ourselves...I heard that's NOT IN for 2008, so I'm trying to quit. Anyhow, I guess it's just one of our special talents...awkward. So for his birthday he got a much deserved gift, the gift of being finished with finals for this term. Small blessings. In addition we went to dinner and devoured a very delightful mixture of lettuce wraps, cashew almond chicken, and sweet and sour chicken, at one of our favorite restaurants, P.F. Changs. Plus as a bonus we got leftovers for the next 2 days. Good times.

Then we drove home and I had planned a small yet powerful surprise birthday party with 4 other couples. I had given them my key and they decorated the place and sprayed silly string at Russell as he walked in. It was a surprise up until he opened the door and saw all the many pairs of shoes in the walkway...note to self, have guests hide shoes for ultimate surprise factor.
Russell opened his presents and he received a Norwegian Waffle maker, wallet and watch- we went with the "W" theme apparently. Also, he got the 5th Harry Potter movie which is fantastic. As a small side note, Russell has mentioned a time or two that my deviated septum nose, resembles that of the one and only Lord Voldemort...weird

I thought it would be fun to have a pinanta so we did...we got lots of candy and had a good time swinging.

Our friends made some yummy peach/blueberry cobbler for the birthday treat. And being the genius that I am, I forgot to buy candles so I took the one candle from the complimentary restuarant dessert, stuffed it in my bag and then put it on the cobbler...Pretty amazing huh?

Well, a party is not a party unless it ends in a rousing game of "Catch Phrase" and party bags that include Kazoos..remember how cool those were. Anyway, it was a fabulous evening with "food, folks, and fun!!" (ten dollars to Kirstin if she remembers who said that).
So hot right now.
