Doesn't it look like my thumb is extra large...not on purpose, it just happened. "It's boring, but it's my life." Anywho, to celebrate our marriage we decided to go to Hood River to pick some of the most delicious apples and pears. random huh? But it was so fun. It was the most beautiful fall day. the air was crisp and the sun was shining through the golden and auburn leafed trees. It was picturesque. We drove to this little town beyond Hood River called, Parkdale, where we managed to drive the "Fruit Loop" of fruit orchards. 13 miles of different farms selling their autumn goods. We opted for the farthest farm owned by a Japanese family who now had 4th generation family members running the farm. It was awesome...as were the tastes and prices of the apples. They had 25ish different kinds of apples and about 15 different types of pears. We tasted several and our favorite, Mt. Fuji, were 69 cents a pound....compared to the outrageous 2.50-3.00 in the grocery store. SO we bought about 60 apples and 40 pears...to make applesauce and bottle pears...no big deal..it was only $15.00. I know, amazing. Pretty much like our tasty applesauce. i don't want to brag, but...it's really good. Soooo, after our afternoon excursion I surprised Russell with a romatical evening on the "Portland Spirit." A dinner cruise on the Columbia River. We pretty much felt like movie stars with our candlelit dinner and live jazz piano entertainment in the background. We had a wonderful evening of "getting better acquainted" and then got home snuggled and watched a movie. It's amazing how much more I love him every day!! I got lucky...;)

Look How Large the apple is!!!
